Duck Hunting DecoysA lot of hunters thrive on having the best duck decoy spread. With all of the right combinations, you can have orange feet landing by you all day. But with all of the decoy hunting tools available, the birds can catch on pretty quick. You can hunt ducks over timber, open water, potholes, dams, creeks, rivers, fields, etc., etc. If you're going to buy duck hunting equipment, you should ensure that they will work in all situations that you hunt.
Without a doubt, the most popular tool these days in addition to the duck decoy is the motorized duck decoy. I'm referring to the elevated duck decoy (third down on the left), and I'll get to the others in a second. Many will argue the ethics behind the decoy, because it works too good. In my opinion, you'll get cleaner kills and less cripples, so it can only help the duck hunting situation.
On top of the spinner duck decoy is the other motion duck decoy. These are the ones that imitate a swimming duck or a feeding duck. In the past, this could easily be accomplished with a jerk string, so by hand you can liven your duck decoys. Now you can have the duck decoys battery operated, and it will make it easier on you. The more motion in your duck decoys the better in my opinion. Experiment and find what works best for you.
